Murals In My Community.
For my Photography in the Community project I have chosen to do Murals within my community in Glen Innes, Auckland. The Bradley Lane Mural Project was an event organised by a local Samoan Artist and former member of TMD (The Most Dedicated) Gary Silipa that took place on the 15 & 16th of November in 2014 on Bradley Lane in Glen Innes.
Five murals were created by nine artists over the two day project. Those nine amazing artists that participated in this project were Askew One, Elliot Frances Stewart, Berst, Misery, Tomtom, Trustme, Component & Beck Wheeler.
The Bradley Lane is a annual project curated by Gary Silipa with the dream of having the entire lane painted with art that the local community could be proud of and inspired by and that people would make a point of coming to the Tamaki community to see it for themselves.
I love the fact that these artist are using the power of art to help and inspire youth. This is why I want to become a Muralists, to inspire the world visually.
